Caer for Roman(ish) fort, Caradoc for Caractacus, last chieftain of the Catuvellauni. His last battle was round here somewhere – although probably not at the top of this hill!

It was rather fresh on top – an extremely stiff breeze from the west! We found a sheltered spot for our picnic, which we shared with another couple (no pic of them though).

We came more or less straight down the ridge back into Church Stretton – and the pub, where we had a very nice piece of rhubarb cake with our drinks.
We went for a little wander round the town, and picked up a couple of geocaches and most of the information for a third.

We nipped into the Coop for a few bits, and then home for sausages & chips.
