We packed up the car, then went over to Ullswater and Aira Force. We walked up one side of the valley and back down the other – the falls were all nicely full of water.

There were several bridges across the beck, which gave excellent vantage points.

We had our picnic lunch on a convenient bench provided by the National Trust, and an excellent cup of NT tea. Then we hit the A66/A1, and were home soon after 4pm.
