2026-06-09 Derwent Water

The forecast was for thundery showers, so we decided to stay low and in the woods – a full circuit of Derwent Water was spot on! In the end, the showers didn’t really get going until we were nearly back to Keswick, but it made up for lost time with some splendid thunder, and fierce hailstones.

We got back to Keswick and dried off a bit in the pub. Then we wandered round collecting info for a couple of geocaches, before heading home for a cuppa & a shower. And then out for dinner in one of the local hostelries.
