2025-08-31 Bangor & Aber Falls

The forecast was for intermittent showers and extremely fierce winds, so not a day for the high tops!

And anyway, we needed to pick up a few essentials, so we went into Bangor – it was very quiet, being a Sunday. Shopping done, we walked over the hill by the university, and then along the coast road to the pier.

We had bacon butties in the cafe at the end of the pier (not a patch on Southsea pier’s burgers, sadly!)

By this time, the weather had turned beautiful, if still quite breezy. We went over to Aber Falls – and this is where all the people are!

Aber Falls

We walked across the river and over to the other side of the valley, and only met about 3 people for the rest of the afternoon.

Round the corner – more falls, no people
Across the straits to Anglesey

On our way back, we picked up a geocache that we had failed on last time we were here (8 years ago).

We got back to the village just in time for the last piece of coffee & walnut cake

Then home for a shower, and chicken & mushrooms for tea.

Bangor – 4 miles

Aber Falls – 4.5 miles

1 geocache

20,000 steps
