2025-06-13 Broomhead Reservoir

We’d packed everything back into car by 10am, did a little bit of shopping, then headed up to Bolsterstone near Sheffield.

The Bolster Stones, kept safely in the churchyard
Village stocks, next to the churchyard

We walked down to the reservoir, also very low following the dry winter & spring.

Through the woods along the far side, and up to the Hall (rems of), where we found a sheltered spot for lunch.

Closely watched by the local dinosaurs

We dropped down into the valley and up to the ridge on the far side

When we got to the trig point, looking back we could see Wednesday’s trig point over on Derwent Edge. Looking forward we had contrasting views over the much-industrialised Stockbridge valley. Then it was downhill all the way to the pub, for something long & cold before tackling the M1.

20,000 steps, 6.5 miles, 0 geocaches
