Lukers On Tour

2025-06-12 Edale & Kinder

Slightly less sunny, slightly more breezy, chance of rain from 4pm.

We parked in Edale, and took the route up Grindsbrook Clough, passing several Geography field trip groups on the way.

Dinosaur footprint?
We all made it!
It wasn’t actually as bad as it looks

We turned west along the rim of the plateau, again passing many wind-blown rocks. They were noticeably different from yesterday’s layer cakes, but just as striking

Rabbit? Dolphin?

There’s a path here somewhere
Ah, the way out!

The breeze was pretty fierce by now, but we found a sheltered spot for lunch

Then we headed down the Penine Way back towards the village

I can see the pub!

As we approached the pub, it was just starting to spit a bit with rain, but it held off long enough for us to have a pint and get back to the car.

Home for a cup of tea, a shower, then out for pizza.

Then a quick amble round Buxton mopping up geocaches, a nightcap in the New Inn, then home to collapse in bed.

28,000 steps, 8.6 miles, 4 geocaches
