2025-02-23 Chester

The trains were behaving particularly well, and we got into Chester exactly at 1pm. Unfortunately the weather had worsened as we went further west, and it was wet & blustery, and not very warm, but only a 10 minute walk to our apartment.

The apartment is smart and comfortable, with views of the canal basin and (allegedly) into Wales, even as far as Snowdon…

Wales… Somewhere?

There’s a rather nice pub by the canal, so we had lunch there, then we walked along the towpath right into Chester. The cathedral promised shelter, and choral evensong provided a lovely backdrop.

We headed back to the flat for a cup of tea and a few quiet minutes, and then went back to the pub round the corner for supper.
