2024-06-17 Windermere

Again the forecast wasn’t so good, so we decided to take the boat down to the far end of the lake, and visit the aquarium. Again though, it turned into a lovely day – although we could see the hills to the west looked a bit gloomy.

The Aquarium was quite low-key, but had some cute things

Axolotl
Piranha
Poison dart frog
Stick insect
Golden cichlids
Sea horses

We had nearly an hour before the return boat trip, so we wandered over Great Knott and picked up a couple of geocaches. The top had been devastated by storm Arwen in 2021, but it meant you could see the views up the lake.

The return trip up the eastern side of the lake, showed us many splendid houses.
